Qara

Cehere was a station on the road from Damascus to Palmyra, at Qara in Syria. The map's form of the name may be corrupt: the place is perhaps the Goaria of the geographer Ptolemy, which also fits the position of Qara. On the map it is a bare name, twenty Roman miles from Casama and eighteen from Danova.
