Ad amana
Qastal? (Barrington)
Ad Amana, at the Amana, took its name from a river, though not from the one on which Damascus lies. It stood on the road from Damascus to Palmyra, probably at Qastal; older research placed it at Nebk and linked it with Calamona, a garrison named in late Roman army lists. Ptolemy calls it Admana. The map counts twelve Roman miles from Adarin and twenty on to Casama.
