Ad ammontem

Hine (Miller) · near Qafr Hawar (Barrington)

Ad Ammontem lay on the road from Caesarea Paneas to Damascus, at Qafr Hawar on the Nahr el-Arni, or, going by the map's distances, near Hine at the foot of Mount Hermon, the Ina of the geographer Ptolemy. The station seems to belong to late antiquity. The map sets it twenty-eight Roman miles from each of its neighbours, but draws the stretch on to Damascus as two.
