Road station
Ad Ansam
Maningtree am Riv. Stour (Miller) · Higham (Barrington)
Ad Ansam was a station near the estuary of the Stour in the east of England, perhaps at Higham, or at Manningtree across the water from Harwich. Ansa seems to have been the name of the river or of its estuary. On the map the station lies fifteen Roman miles from Combretovium and only five from Camulodunum, today Colchester, and here the road simply ends: no stretch leads on, though a line runs out to the sea.
