Ad Aquas

Acquasanta Terme [Pleiades]

Listen to the story

Ad Aquas, at the waters, was a stop on the Via Salaria near Ascoli, where thermal springs still rise at Acquasanta Terme, roughly one hundred and seven Roman miles from Rome. The name appears only on this map: a Roman register of routes skips the station altogether, and although the map often marks spa towns with a picture of a bath house, here it draws none.
