Mileto appears only on this map, in the Ravenna list and in Guido; its name may honour Miletus, the great Ionian city that founded many colonies on the Black Sea, Sinope among them. The map sets it on the coast west of Sinope, but it probably lay on the inland road from Ancyra, south-west of the city, perhaps near today's Kabalı; the nineteen miles to Sinope would fit. Perhaps whoever drew this stretch worked leftwards from Sinope and laid the road down in the wrong direction.
