Mirinna
Güzelhisar Çay bei Kalabaksaray
Mirinna is Myrina, an Aeolian port at the mouth of the Pythikos river, near Kalabaksaray on the Turkish coast. According to the chronicle of Eusebius, Greek settlers founded it in 1046 BC, and the Greek geographer Strabo traced its name to an Amazon, who often appears on its coins. Under Augustus it was renamed Sebastopolis, it survived several earthquakes, and in late antiquity it was a bishop's seat. The city is famous for the terracotta figures found in its cemetery, and excavations have run since 2015. The map's nine miles on to Cyme, about thirteen kilometres, are too few.
