A Synnade Euforbium milia XXXVII

? Kınık, 3 km. nördl. von Tatarlı ?

Asynnade Vforbio Milia, with the figure thirty-seven, is a garbled road note: it should read from Synnada to Euphorbium, thirty-seven miles. The E of Euforbio has dropped out, perhaps because the red capital I of the label Phrygia stood in between and confused the scribe. The note also uses a rare form of the town's name, Synnade, from Synnas, found mainly in the 1st century AD, while the label above the town's picture has the usual Synnada; the mapmaker evidently combined sources without making them agree.
