Road station
Lucus Basaro
Lucus Basaro begins with the Latin word for a grove, often one sacred to a god. The station lay on the road from Satala in Lesser Armenia to Artaxata, on the western side of the Euphrates. Older research placed it at the ruins of Karabey, others at Aşkale. The map counts fifteen Roman miles from Aegea and twenty-two on to Sinara.
