Luntulis

around Gradac

Listen to the story

Luntulis, which a Roman register of routes calls Lentulis, was a station on the Drava road from Poetovio to Mursa, near Gradac in Croatia; older research placed it at Đurđevac, where a milestone of the emperor Constantius was found, though without a figure. The pilgrim from Bordeaux lists it as an overnight station, Leutolis, and the Greek geographer Ptolemy knew the place as Lentudon. The map sets Luntulis eleven Roman miles from Piretis and eight from Iovia.
