Road station
Darucinte
Darucinte may be an Armenian name: one suggestion reads it as slope and nose, that is, a jutting spur of land. The station stood on the road from Satala to Artaxata, forty Roman miles beyond Satala and twenty, about thirty kilometres, before Aegea on the upper Euphrates. It is sought on the watershed between the Çoruh to the north and the Euphrates to the south. Some would identify it with Tareina, or with the frontier fort of Horonon.
