Domana
? Köse ?
Domana, a town of Lesser Armenia with a Cappadocian name, stood on the road through the Pontic mountains to Trapezus; Ptolemy lists it among the inland towns along the range, and the Roman register of routes has it on the stage before Satala. In AD 265 the region fell to the Persian king Shapur the First, and around 400 a unit of mounted archers was stationed here, well placed on the high plateau. The site is usually sought at Köse, where a worked stone in the cemetery, probably a Roman milestone, was found, although no ancient remains can be seen there today.
