Medocia

Plateau 3 Meilen nördl. von Şon Kale, ? Ağyarlar ?

Medocia survives in this form only here, but it has a curious afterlife in the list compiled in Ravenna: there it turns up twice, once as Medoia on the mountain road and once as Medocina among the coastal stations, along with its neighbour Solonenica. The compiler had evidently slipped both names onto the line drawn just above, a sign that he was copying from a map, not from a road book. The station itself probably lay on the broad Ağyarlar ridge near Şon Kale, where clear traces of a Roman road could still be seen in 1996, on a rocky rise sixty metres above it.
