Mediocera

Ain-Medeker

Listen to the story

Mediocera, which the Greek geographer Ptolemy calls Medikkara, lay at Ain Medeker in Tunisia, below the Djebel Medkour, where remains of ancient buildings survive. A bishop from a place called Mekkora, recorded in 258 AD, may belong here. The map sets it sixteen Roman miles from Bibae and six from Aggersel.
