Ulisippira

Henchir-Zembra

Listen to the story

Ulisippira, called Ulizibira by the Greek geographer Ptolemy, lay at Henchir Zembra in Tunisia, on the road towards Hadrumetum, and a late Roman inscription confirms the spelling the map uses. The map sets it eight Roman miles, about twelve kilometres, from Aggersel, while the distance on to Gurra is missing.
