Ulmo, at the elm, was a station on the road from Carnuntum to Scarabantia, the Roman Sopron, near the northern tip of Lake Neusiedl; others have looked for it at Bruck or Parndorf. On the map the stretch on to Scarabantia has no starting mark. The map sets Ulmo fourteen Roman miles, about twenty-one kilometres, from Carnuntum and twenty-five from Scarabantia.
