Aegea
Pekeriç
Aegea is the Elegeia of the geographer Ptolemy, a town of Greater Armenia on the Euphrates, which the historian Cassius Dio also mentions; the Ravenna list writes Egea. Where exactly it stood is disputed. It is placed at Pekeriç, while older research suggested Aşkale, or Ilica between Erzurum and Erzincan. The map counts twenty Roman miles from Darucinte and fifteen on to Lucus Basaro.
