Ad Zociandem

Nizip

Ad Zociandem was the last stop before Zeugma, twelve Roman miles on, and lay just as far from Ad Serta. It is placed at Nizip and is possibly the same as Nisibyn. The station stood on the river Kerzin or on a nameless brook nearby. The late Roman writer Martianus Capella reckons the whole road from Seleucia to Zeugma at a hundred and seventy-five miles.
