Ad Vicesimum

zwischen Morluppo und Assura [Pleiades]

Listen to the story

Ad Vicesimum, at the twentieth, took its name from the twentieth milestone on the Via Flaminia, counted from Rome. It lay near Castelnuovo di Porto, where many ancient remains mark an old resting place and a side road branched off to Capena. All four silver cups of Vicarello list it, simply writing the numeral for twenty. Beyond it rises Mount Soracte, but on the map the distance on to Aqua Viva has dropped out.
