Aegonne is known only from this map and from the Ravenna list, which writes Agonne. Its site is very uncertain; one guess puts it near Sorgun in Turkey. On the map it lies thirty-six Roman miles from Rogmorum and twenty-eight from Ptemari. An identification with Phubagina, a town listed by the geographer Ptolemy, is unlikely.
