Ad Fines
? Dedeli Yayla
On the pass over the Dümbelek Dağı, a spur of the Bolkar mountains at Dedeli Yayla, lie the remains of a Roman and early Byzantine settlement, probably Ad Fines. Foundations with door lintels still in place spread over a slope and a hill, with two single-aisled churches whose style suggests the place belonged to Cilicia, two tower-like tombs on the summit and a building with two arches, perhaps a Roman farm. The name means at the border, here the frontier of Cilicia. On the map it follows Iconium directly, though the real border lay much farther away, so several stations must have dropped out.
