Ad Fines

Laktaši near Banja Luka

Ad Fines lay at Laktaši near Banja Luka in Bosnia, close to hot springs and Roman baths, where traces of the Roman road have been found. Its name means at the boundary, here the border between Pannonia and Dalmatia, and it is one of several places on the map so called. Oddly, the map gives it a name but no hook to mark the station, and the stretch onward has no starting mark. The map sets Ad Fines sixteen Roman miles from Servitium and thirteen from Castra.
