Listen to the story

At Ad Fines the map sets out a name and two distance figures as if for two stretches of road, but the lines themselves were never drawn, perhaps because too little room was left before the river. The station lay between Naix and Toul, and its name, at the boundary, marks the border between the territories of those two towns. Its site is unknown; suggestions include Feins, the woods of Rigny between the Meuse and the Moselle, Attancourt and Bertheleville. Nearby Void has Roman remains, but the distances do not fit.
