Ad Flumen Capadocem
Ad Flumen Capadocem means 'at the river Capadox', a station only three Roman miles, about four and a half kilometres, beyond the bridge of Singa. The river is usually taken for the stream now called Chalburdji; measured to its present mouth, the stretch would be nearer seven miles. Here too the two rivers drawn on the map crowd so close that the name runs over one of them. For the last stage on to Samosata the map gives no figure at all.
