Road station
Ad Fontem Felicem
Borjomi
Ad Fontem Felicem, at the happy spring, was a station on the road from Sebastopolis at the mouth of the Phasis to Artaxata, and is placed at Borjomi in Georgia. The road ran over the Surami pass, the key pass of the Caucasus lands, which the railway from Tbilisi to Batumi still crosses. Since the station must have stood right by the river Kura, one suggestion is that it marked the river crossing, and the name should really read Ad Pontem Felicem, at the happy bridge. The sixty miles the map gives back to Sebastopolis are far too few; the figures for stations in between have probably dropped out.
