Road station

Ad Herculem

Ad Herculem, at Hercules, is a road station whose site is unknown. Older research linked it with a place the Greeks called the altars of Heracles. The map gives no figure from the unnamed stop before it, but counts twenty-two Roman miles on to Hatris; that stretch is drawn as two, and on the way the road crosses a river.
