Ad Grecos

zwischen Florenz und Chiusi [7], Sinalunga [3], Bettolle [5]

Listen to the story

Ad Grecos, at the Greeks, suggests a settlement of Greek-speaking people, perhaps craftsmen from the eastern Mediterranean, on the Via Cassia between Chiusi and Arezzo. Its place is disputed: Sinalunga and Bettolle in the Val di Chiana and Castelnuovo Berardenga near Siena have all been proposed, and some explain the name instead from an Etruscan personal name.
