Road station

Adipte

4 miles E Bismil

Adipte, a town the Ravenna list counts as part of Parthia, lay about four miles east of Bismil. From here the road crossed the Tigris to reach Sardebar, ten further on, while Sitae lay twelve behind. One older view equated the station with Bezabde, also called Phoenice, a fortress on the Tigris known to the historian Ammianus, but that fortress stood at Cizre.
