Cesum

Cesum turns up in the Roman register of routes as Nisus and in the Ravenna list as Nisson. Older research placed it at ruins just north of Hasse, and expressly not at Kesun. The map gives seven Roman miles on each side, back to Thanna and on to Heracome. On this stretch a whole town seems to have dropped out of the copy: Nicopolis, now Islahiye, which the register of routes does list.
