Ad Fines

Grando Bégudo

At Grando Bégudo on the Calavon the bases of Roman bridge piers have been observed, and that is where the station Ad Fines is placed, on the road from Cavaillon to Apt. Two of the silver cups from Vicarello list it by the same name. It stood on the boundary between the Cavares and the Vulgientes, and later between two late Roman provinces, which is what the name means: at the boundary. An older view placed it near Goult.
