Ad Fines

near Džep

Ad Fines stood where the Morava forces its way through a gorge, near Džep in Serbia, at the old border between Dardania and Moesia, on the road from Naissus to Stobi. The name means at the boundary, and the map uses it several times. The map sets Ad Fines thirty-five Roman miles from Anausarus, a figure some have read as thirty-two, and eight from Ad Herculem.
