Ninittaci

Nizy-le-Comte

Ninittaci is Nizy-le-Comte in the Aisne in northern France, a village in the territory of the Remi on the road from Bavay to Reims. The Roman register of routes calls it Minatiacum, but the map's form, with its initial N, may be closer to the truth, since the modern name Nizy seems to descend from it. From 1891 on, excavations here brought to light sculptures, now in the museum at Laon, and inscriptions naming a local district, the pagus Vennectis, otherwise unknown.
