Nible

Ragusa Ibla (Barrington)

Listen to the story

Nible is a miscopied Hyble, one of the several Sicilian towns called Hybla, here Hybla Heraia, usually placed at Ragusa Ibla, which still keeps the name, though other sites nearby have been proposed. A Roman register of routes writes Hyble correctly. The map sets it twenty-four Roman miles from Calvisiana and eighteen from Acrae.
