Clucar, called Cluacaria in the Roman register of routes and Chulcar in the Ravenna list, lay on the road from Carthage up the Bagradas valley, probably at Henchir el Ahmera. The map gives ten Roman miles from Elefantaria, which older research found too short: the true distance is fifteen, and ten would rather fit an intermediate halt at Sidi Nasar. In the drawing, the next stretch, towards Thuburbi Minus, has no marked start.
