Tichilla

Testour

Listen to the story

Tichilla is Testour in Tunisia, on the bank of the Bagradas, the river now called the Medjerda; the Greek geographer Ptolemy knew it as Tikelia and the list of places compiled in Ravenna as Zicella. The Moorish town built on the site much later reused stones and columns from Roman towns nearby. On the map a road branches off here, but its connecting line is missing. Tichilla lies twelve Roman miles from Thignica and sixteen from Membrissa.
