Listen to the story
Sicilibra lay at Bordj Alaouine in Tunisia, some thirty-three Roman miles from Carthage on the road to Theveste; inscriptions found there confirm the site. It was a municipium with a bishop as early as 255 AD, and its name, which shares its first part with Sicca, may mean something like Libyan market. The map sets it five Roman miles from Thurris; the line to Risca is missing, although its distance figure is there, in the wrong place.
