Larnaka

Cito is Kition, the ancient city at Larnaka in Cyprus, with a harbour and saltworks; an inscription found here names the community of the Citians, and its Phoenician name may have been Qarthadasht. Three roads meet here on the map: from Thremitus and from Amathus, each twenty-four Roman miles, and from Tamiso, twenty-nine. The stretch on to Salamina carries no figure and is drawn as two; Diodorus put Salamis two hundred stades away.
