Arulos
Kypsele ?
Arulos is a garbled Aloros, an old town in the innermost corner of the Thermaic Gulf. Ptolemy of Aloros, who ruled Macedon as regent from 368 BC, came from here, and a veteran of the Seventh Legion, buried in the 1st century AD, gave Aloros as his home. By Roman times silt had pushed the coast away from the town. Its site is disputed: north of the Haliacmon at Palaiochora, or south of it near Kypseli, where a fortified town has been found.
