Road station

Gallicum

Philadelphiana ?

Gallicum, the last station before Thessalonica on the road down the Axios, probably lay near Nea Filadelfeia in Greece, at a crossing of the river Gallikos, the ancient Echedorus; the station may have given the river its later name, or taken its name from it. Remains of the ancient road and its bridges survive in the Gallikos gorge. Older research looked for the station near Lake Amatovo instead. The list of places compiled in Ravenna writes Callicum.
