Hatera
bei Katerini ?
Hatera, a form found only on this map, may be the Itharis that the geographer Mela lists between the rivers Peneus and Axius, and the Imera of the Ravenna list. It probably lay near today's Katerini, whose name may even echo it. North-east of the town two Macedonian tombs of the 4th century BC have been found, buried deep under river silt, and a settlement of classical and Hellenistic times has been traced towards Korinos. Livy never mentions the place, perhaps because it was still small.
