Near Alberese, close to the mouth of the Ombrone in the Maremma, lay Hasta, a station on the Via Aurelia along the Tuscan coast, where the remains of a Roman villa have been found by the road. Its name means spear, and it shares it with another place on the map, the town of Asti in Piedmont.
