Halvillo

Fossato di Vico? (Barrington)

Listen to the story

Halvillo is Helvillum, a village on the Via Flaminia at Fossato di Vico in Umbria, where a dedication set up by the villagers themselves, the vicani Helvillates, confirms the name. Remains of the Roman road with two ancient bridges survive nearby, and the pilgrim from Bordeaux, who spent a night here, wrote the name as Herbellum.
