Hasta

Voltri [Pleiades] · Arenzano? [3]

By the map's reckoning, Hasta lay thirty-three Roman miles from Genoa, a station on the Ligurian coast road, probably at Voltri or Arenzano, though its exact site is unknown. It lies seven miles after Ad Navalia and thirteen before Ad Figlinas. Apart from the map, only the list of places compiled in Ravenna names it, as Asta, so the entry probably belongs to a late stage of the map. Its name, which is also the Latin word for a spear, it shares with Asti in Piedmont, further inland on the same map.
