Road station
Acerdos
? nahe Meliki
Acerdos may be the river Ascordus, which the consul Quintus Marcius Philippus reached in 169 BC on his march into Macedonia; the station would then mark a river crossing, as so often on the map. Guido's list writes Archelos, which some take for the palace of King Archelaus near Vergina, where the Macedonian kings were buried. It probably lay near Meliki. The map draws the road from here straight on along the coast, though in reality it swung inland to the north-west, by Beroea and Pella to Thessalonica.
