Aceruone

Stari Trg pri Višnji gori

Listen to the story

Acervone, the Roman Acervo, was a station on the road from Emona, the Roman Ljubljana, to Siscia, probably at Stari Trg near Višnja Gora in Slovenia, or a little east of it at Št. Vid near Stična, close to an Iron Age burial mound. The name in this form appears only here; the list of places compiled in Ravenna writes Acerbo. On the map the stretch on to Ad Praetorium is drawn as two, with a nameless bend in the middle: the mapmaker or a copyist added one bend too many.
