Ab Iria Comelio Magus Milia XVI
Voghera
The words Abiria Cameliomagus, followed by the Latin for sixteen miles, are another scrap of a written route copied onto the map: from Iria, today Voghera in northern Italy, to Comeliomagus, sixteen miles. As with its neighbour, the copyist ran the little Latin word ab, meaning from, into the town's name, and the destination stands in the wrong grammatical case. The sixteen Roman miles agree exactly with the Roman register of routes. Curiously, the map spells the destination differently in this entry and on its own stretch.
