Artobrige

Traunstein

Listen to the story

Artobriga is a Celtic name: its second half, briga, means a hill or height and recurs in many Celtic place names. The station lay between Bedaium on the Chiemsee and Iuvavum, now Salzburg, perhaps at Traunstein or near Oberteisendorf, sixteen Roman miles from each on the map.
