Arutela

Bivolărie

Arutela was a fort on the Olt road in Roman Dacia, at Bivolari in Romania, on the left bank of the river, where a large camp and many finds have come to light. Older research placed it at the mouth of the Lotru and wondered whether that river's name still echoes Arutela. The map sets Arutela nine Roman miles from Castra Traiana and fifteen from Praetorium, at the foot of the Red Tower Pass through the Carpathians.
