Trebinje
Asamo is drawn as if on the coast, and older research took it so, looking for it at Dubrovnik or at Slano, where the sarcophagus of a consul of 462 was found. Most scholars now follow a road further inland and place Asamo at Trebinje in Herzegovina, on the left bank of the Trebišnjica, on the way to Epidaurum. The whole route between Narona and Epidaurum is disputed, and each reconstruction puts the station somewhere else. The list of places compiled in Ravenna spells it Asamon.
