Artemita
Schiraban? (Miller)
Artemita was a Greek foundation and an important city of Apolloniatis, a district of Assyria, with the river Sillas flowing right through it; Strabo, Pliny and the geographer Ptolemy all know it. In the local language it was called Chalasar, a name that recalls Ellasar in the Book of Genesis. It is usually sought among ruins on the river Diyala near Schiraban, although the map seems to put it nearer the Tigris.
